I'm sound designing for a school production again, and would be eternally grateful if you guys would lend a hand...does anyone have the soundtracks for Eye of the Beholder, Incendiary, or Deception? The tracks for Stay and Young Adam worked beautifully last time. This is for a non-profit, academic organization. Thanks so much!

You know it’s the last day of school when I’ve taken a final at 8 in the morning, watched 2 full length TV shows, and 2 movies in theaters before dinnertime.

Today I went to see “Monsters and Aliens” and “Star Trek”.

For those of you who watched the Oscars or at least caught Hugh Jackman's spectacular opening as Oscar host, (God, he's so hot) you already know that Anne Hathaway can sing. I believe she also sings in Ella Enchanted, and was a member of All- Eastern U.S. High School Honors Chorus.

IMDb furthers this information by letting us know that "In 1998, was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role at the Paper Mill Playhouse "Rising Star Awards", an award given to high schools across New Jersey. Ironically, she was nominated for playing the Princess in 'Once Upon A Mattress'" !!! Given I'm definitely not an acapella kid (haha Andy) like most of you LJ kids, I have garnered enough information about that role after working on the musical and listening to you guys talk about singing in general to venture an assumption that the Winifred role requires a "belting" voice?

So yeah, anyways. I'm talking about all of this, because according to filmexperience, buzzsugar and Variety, Anne Hathaway has been cast as Judy Garland in an upcoming biopic.

To me, so far, it sounds promising. I've love to see Anne do more and stop those goddamn chick flicks (Bride Wars?! Really? Come on! [GOB voice]) and keep on with the good movies she's been in these last few years, like Brokeback Mountain, Devil Wears Prada, and the fantastic Rachel Getting Married. And I wouldn't mind....you know...another Get Smart...

Personally, I think she can do it. I'm not too sure if this should be her FIRST venture into the musical genre, because it's kind of hefty, but then again she's is about the right age too, to play Garland at the star's peak and also to get away from being totally SLAMMED by critics given that Anne is still in the "kinda-teen actor" place in Hollywood. The script is also being adapted from a biography of Garland's, by the same writer who wrote the book that Capote was based off of. Finally, with Rachel Getting Married, it's pretty clear that Hathaway isn't afraid of venturing into the darker parts of the psyche, and that could potentially be pretty cool, given that Judy Garland had those drug additions and relationship troubles that came with the fame and fortune.

So that's my bit for now, we'll see how it progresses. Any thoughts from my so very musically inclined friends?

Very excited about this movie. More Edward Norton playing dual characters within a movie is never bad. In fact, it might be a ... leitmotif of his?

EDWARD NORTON: THE HUMAN SCHISM!

"The lives of two identical twins, one an Ivy League philosophy professor, the other a small-time and brilliant marijuana grower, intertwine when the professor is lured back to his Oklahoma hometown for a doomed scheme against a local drug lord."

Edward Norton seems like he doesn't have a problem acting with CGI, which is....what this movie is going to involve, with the playing two interacting characters and what not.

The cast is rounded out with Richard Dreyfuss playing the drug lord, as well as Keri Russell. I'm excited to see Dreyfuss back in a major role. He'll always be the "Writer" from Stand By Me (1986) for me, being so powerful in so small a role. God, I love that movie. (Does anyone? Haha)

Lovely poster, too, don't you think? The crossbow is a little ominous. Also, props to whoever titled this movie, because Walt Whitman's book of poetry + marijuana is pretty fucking fantastic.
